Most uncomfortable shoe I've ever worn. I had always heard that Rockport shoes were comfortable, but this pair managed to produce pain I've not felt since my army days of forced marches. In fact, my old combat boots were far more comfortable than these shoes.
On a positive note, this was my first purchase from Zappos and I must say that I was impressed. The price was good, the selection exceptional, and the shipping was phenomenally fast.
My only wish is that the shoes felt as good as the service.

About ten years ago I bought this Prowalker M7100 size8W. After wearing it out I could not find another pair in shops or online including Rockport. When I hit Zappos I was thrilled to find 3 pairs left.The rest you know. I may order the same in egg or white. I admire your penchant to satisfy your customers

Heck of a deal!
After a brief search for men’s shoes in Google, I discovered Zappos.com. Impressed with the variety and selection offered, I purchased my Rockports in a 13EEE. The price was reasonable and service from Zappos was prompt. The shoes are light weight, very comfortable and fit as they should. I have worn Rockports for 20+ years and will continue to do so. I wish to suggest your consideration of a light weight shoe with a steel/composite reinforced toe for salesmen.

I bought these shoes for a wedding and they were great and looked beautiful. I had a knee length dress and wore silver stockings with the shoes - perfect. They were comfortable all night and I have bunions! I would definitely recommend them.

Initially it was binding on the top of my foot when I was sitting, but when walking there was no binding. After two wearings it no longer binds and is very comfortable all day long.

These shoes are better looking than I thought the pictures showed, and were extremely comfortable-they were a little snug at first, but broke in really easily the first day. Zappos shipped these to me in two days-best online shopping experience I have ever had. If you need a casual dress shoe that is supportive, provides excellent shock absorbing abilities, and just good overall comfort, these shoes are worth their weight in gold.

Beware if you have thin calves -
These boots felt WONDERFUL...comfortable beyond words; however, I have thin calves and found that the pair I received were actually 17 inches in circumference at the top!!! If I had larger calves, I would get 2 pair because of their comfort and versatility. Unfortunately, I need to warn others of the actual measurements of the top of the boot so that they will know to look elsewhere. I hope Rockport decides to come out with the same boot with a narrow calf because they were great, otherwise.

Utilitarian Comfort disguised in a business shoe -
I work in downtown Boston at a financial services company and need to wear starched shirts, a jacket and dress pants to work each day. The Rockport Banstead fits right into my wardrobe just fine with its high end leather and sleek looks. It's not as sophisticated as some of my other shoes due to its metal-enforced eyeholes and running-shoe inspired heel. But, it is appropriate for everyday business wear.
Comfort & Fit - I have a semi-wide foot, so I'm so appreciative to the other reviewers who recommended getting the EE width. I feared it might be too wide, but it fits perfectly. I wear a size 9 and this size 9 Rockport is true-to-fit. I mentioned the running-shoe inspired heel detracts from its looks, but it more than makes up for it in comfort. I walk a mile from the train to my office and I feel a definite cushioned spring to my step. The back of the shoe is a bit higher than others, so I was bracing myself for a few days of break-in, but I was pleasantly surprised to experience no discomfort at all.
I highly recommend the Rockport Banstead for mid-tier business wear. It would probably go well with a suit too.

I got these in tan leather, size 8 Wide. Yes, W-I-D-E, and this is very important - they fit PERFECTLY! Look great in tan leather, too. Very comfortable. Fit well with warm sock. Insoles are removable. There is also thin flannel liner so they should be warm.

Very comfortable shoe right out of the box. Stylish with a classic look. The heel is not the older Vibram sole which I did find to be a bit more comfortable than the current model, but all in all this is a very comfortable shoe.

For last few decades, I have been an avid Rockport fan. Some of their shoes were quite good, but the quality has been deteriorating recently. Rockport's old lines' fit and finish were superior to the recent renditions. This particular "Tapani" model has shattered my biases completely. The look is quite modern and stylish. Lightweight, yet feels solid. They are comfortable as my Asics top-of-line running shoes. The inserts are not "El Cheapo" type at all. People with high insteps will appreciate its construction. I have wide feet, and most of my dress shoes look wide like nuclear powered aircraft carriers. The Tapani somehow looks deceptively "normal" as compared to other wide width shoes.

Great all around walking shoe -
I wear orthotic inserts, and this is a great shoe to accommodate them as well as make my feet comfortable in the daily 2 mile walks I make. I used to wear similar Books walkers, but when they were no longer available, I tried these and actually like them better. The stock insert is a little thin, so you may want to look at a premium insert from this site or Dr. Sholls or similar.
